Simple, Rural Living in Indiana

Hi there. Well, I am battling a cold and that’s why the blog has been a little quiet this week.

Now and again I’d like to share with you some of the blogs that I follow…my reasoning being that if you like this one, maybe we’ll have similar interests!

Check out Geek Farm Life from Indiana, USA. It chronicles the adventures of 2 IT workers who buy a 10 acre farm and proceed to grow vegetables and animals, raise bees and make soap. The neat thing about the blog is that is also includes audio. They record their podcasts in the barn and you can often hear their chickens clucking and other animal noises. If you have itunes on your computer (free software that you can download to your computer), you can subscribe to many different free podcasts, including this one. When I lived in Toronto, I used to listen to Geek Farm Life podcasts on my ipod in the subway on the way to work. It was pretty interesting listening to instructions about how to get honey out of the beehive while standing squashed like a sardine in the subway car!
