Painting the Living Room & Kitchen

June 27, 2008 · 2 Comments

Larry continued the painting and finished the living room today. Here are the wonderful results!

We both worked on the kitchen, and when that’s done, we can head to the Studio and start creating. (After making curtains there.)

As I write, Larry is finishing up priming the walls. Fluffy has been rather agitated about all the action. She must wonder whether this is a prelude to moving or something!

The US news website “Democracy Now” that I mention in the video is actually at http://www.democracynow.org/
The Ralph Nader interview is here: http://www.democracynow.org/2008/6/18/ralph_nader_on_barack_obama_it

In order to get through all of this decorating chaos, I’ve been trying to make us some tasty meals. This isn’t hard to do right now because the A+ gardener friends of ours have already provided us with some fresh, tasty and beautiful looking organic vegetables.

Cheryl’s Romaine

Pamela’s Bok Choi

As for supper tonight, we are eating left-overs from lunch. Salad, quiche and rhubarb crumble. Mmmm Mmmm good.

Rhubarb from Six Owls Farm.

I can’t wait until all the painting and arranging is done. It won’t be long now!

You know what — you are an amazing
photographer Flora, and I want to
know the kind of camera you use –
but it isn’t the camera — it’s the eye –
an absolutely perfect artist’s eye! God
I miss seeing those eyes, and their
    creations in person.

I use a sony cyber-shot camera with 4.1 megapixels. It’s not particulary a great camera and it has a delay AND a sticky photo button. However, it’s rugged and takes little movies too.
My ’secret’ is that I take lots of photos…the rationale being that one will work. Also, I edit like crazy. There are few photos on this blog or in my Flickr account that I haven’t edited.
I edit with iphoto…typically I crop, add more exposure, less contrast, sharpen, add more colour and sometimes blur the edges.
I learned all of this from watching my daughter Emily editing her photos and shooting her toys. Her flickr site is:

    Now there’s a photographer!
