This Afternoon on Brier Island

I’m on Brier Island for a few days, painting with friends.
This is one of my favorite spots in the whole wild world. These are some photos I took this afternoon. They are meant to tempt you to come and visit here.
I’m staying at the hostel again…20 bucks a night with sounds of the waves and seagulls lulling me to sleep. Check it out.

  1. I saw 2 seals but didn’t walk out to Seal Cove for the ‘show’ because I spent most of my time in the meadow painting near Pond Cove. And maybe they were in the ocean, bobbing their heads, but I was too focused on the grasslands with a ribbon of ocean in the distance.

    1. Teresa, right now I’m sitting in the living room of the hostel and it seems not long ago that we met here. I half expect you to walk through the door. You’d better hurry up because we’re leaving tomorrow! – Flora

  2. A lovely Brier Island album, Flora, thanks for sharing it. Lots of nice reflective puddles, big ones! 🙂 Were you there for last night’s cracking thunderstorm, I wonder? Looking forward to seeing the paintings your stay inspires.

    1. Hi Faye! That thunder sure woke me up! And it knocked out the internet. Horrors! But as you can see, it all works now. I go home tomorrow and have some nice little studies to work from.

  3. We will have friends staying there @ the lodge and BR Winery.Beautiful area. Also 6 years ago Morgan Davis played there,so Old friends get together and get to noodle guitars. Have fun!!!
    Nice pics!!

  4. Beautiful pictures Flora. I am always enamoured by the coast, water and rocks. Will you paint any of your scenes? I’ve been to Briar twice, never for long enough to have a good look around.
